Abramorama Acquires North American Distribution Rights to Cindy Kleine's One More Time

Opens at NYC’s Film Forum in February 2027 Following World Premiere at Telluride Film Festival and NYFF Spotlight Screenings

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- AB2 Media Group and ABRAMORAMA announced today that they have acquired North American distribution rights to One More Time, a documentary portrait of three lifelong friends who, now in their eighties and nineties, gather to rehearse scenes from Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, a demanding play they have staged multiple times over decades. Directed by Cindy Kleine (Phyllis and Harold) and co-directed by film and theater legend André Gregory (My Dinner With André, Vanya on 42nd St), the film was produced by Kleine and Gregory and Executive Produced by Martin Scorsese and Ryan Krivoshey. The film world premiered at the 2026 Telluride Film Festival and will screen on October 4th and 5th in the Spotlight section at the 64th New York Film Festival before opening at Film Forum in NYC in February 2027, followed by a North American rollout.

In One More Time, co-director Andrè Gregory and veteran actors Larry Pine and Gerry Bamman gather to rehearse scenes from Samuel Beckett’s post-apocalyptic masterpiece, Endgame, a play they first staged in the 1960s when they were in their twenties and have returned to five times over the years. Now in their eighties and nineties, and despite the physical infirmities of age that impact their ability to perform, they rise to meet the challenge of revisiting this canonical work. Directed by Cindy Kleine, and Co-Directed by Andrè Gregory, this tender and unexpectedly uplifting film interweaves present-day rehearsals – at once demanding, humorous, and deeply felt – with archival fragments from the actors’ storied careers, becoming a moving meditation on art, time and memory – and how Beckett’s vision has come to reflect both our world and their own lives.

About Cindy Kleine

Cindy Kleine has been the recipient of fellowships from The Royal Academy of Art, London, The Museum School, and The MacDowell Colony, and awards from The American Film Institute and many film festivals. Her two feature documentaries, Phyllis and Harold and André Gregory: Before and After Dinner, were released theatrically and are available to stream worldwide. Her film Phyllis and Harold is on the New Yorker's "62 Films That Shaped the Art of Documentary Filmmaking," by Richard Brody.

Kleine attended Wesleyan University and earned a BFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and an MFA from Bard College. As a student, she was inspired and influenced by her teachers and mentors Ricky Leacock, Robert Frank, and Stan Brakhage, and by the breadth of cinema she was exposed to during that time. She taught filmmaking for many years at Boston College, Museum School, Harvard University, and The New School, NYC.

About André Gregory

André Gregory has been one of the most important forces in the American theatre for over forty years. Gregory was one of the original creators of the regional theater movement, the off-Broadway movement in New York, and, with his partner Wallace Shawn, the American independent film movement. His production of The Blacks ran for years in New York and featured now legendary performers James Earl Jones, Cicely Tyson, Lou Gossett, and Maya Angelou. His production of Alice in Wonderland played for seven years, as well as touring the U.S., Europe, and the Mideast, and was made into a book in collaboration with photographer Richard Avedon.

His forty-year collaboration with Wallace Shawn led to a collaboration with Louis Malle, with whom they made two now legendary films, My Dinner with André and Vanya on 42nd Street. In 2013, Shawn and Gregory collaborated with Jonathan Demme to create the film A Master Builder.

As an actor, Gregory has performed in a dozen films, including The Last Temptation of Christ by Martin Scorsese, Mosquito Coast by Peter Weir, Celebrity by Woody Allen, and Demolition Man. In 2017, Gregory starred in the HBO series The Young Pope, directed by Paolo Sorrentino.

Gregory most recently directed What We Did Before Our Moth Days, a new play written by Wallace Shawn, which opened in New York City in March 2026.
