Located in the lobby of One PPG Place near the entrance to the Wintergarden, the installation brings holographic performances by musicians from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra into the center of the city.
Timed to coincide with the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, the expansion extends the experience beyond the airport and into downtown, where visitors to Pittsburgh's most iconic building can encounter world-class music in an unexpected way.
“This is about meeting people where they are,” said Joe Zeff, President of Joe Zeff Design. “At the airport, it’s a first impression. Downtown, it becomes part of the city’s rhythm — a moment of surprise and delight as people move through Pittsburgh during one of its biggest moments.”
The installation features continuous performances delivered via hologram, extending the reach of the Symphony and reinforcing Pittsburgh’s unique blend of culture and technology.
One PPG Place, with its signature glass towers and Wintergarden, is one of Pittsburgh’s most recognizable buildings. The Downtown activation complements the airport installation, creating a connected experience that showcases Pittsburgh’s artistic excellence and spirit of innovation.
The holograms create the illusion that each musician is performing live inside the device. Assistant Concertmaster Dylan Naroff performs his violin composition of Renegade, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ unofficial anthem, alongside other classical works. Pittsburgh Symphony musicians Doug Rosenthal and Rhian Kenny are also featured.
